Catherine Hyland

Over the last ten years Catherine Hyland has established herself as one of the UK’s finest photographic artists. Her large-format images document incredible landscapes from all over the world, often focussing on humanity’s futile attempts to tame nature.

She approached me with a brief for a new portfolio website at the end of 2020 and together we established a strong graphic sensibility for the site. The images are allowed to speak for themselves with plenty of white space and simple, elegant typography. The site is built in such a way that Catherine can tweak its look over time by switching between four different typefaces and unlimited colour combinations.
