Words on Buildings

This series brings together some of my favourite large-format signs spotted on my travels over the last ten years. The naive, hand-made letterforms serve as a reminder that humans inhabit these structures, and in some cases, they reveal layers of history too. Long live the hand painted sign — to me they are gems, nestled amongst the ubiquity of badly-designed and cheaply-printed shop fronts that litter our world.
